Dear David and Erin,
A big thank you for your work at Vivid. It was work well done – Bryce was a true asset.
Well done. Amex and Lateral events are thrilled.

Hi Dave,
Wow! What an absolute pleasure it has been to have Drew and Erin with us. Their care for our cast, their “can-do” attitude, their efficiency, not to mention how amazing the sound was – have been so gratefully appreciated. We were all blown away. Even our Deputy Principal, who is not theatre trained, commented on the improvement in sound this year! Thank you!!
Our Performing Arts administrator will be in touch to book you again for next year!
Many thanks again and hope you had a great holiday.

Kindest regards,

Heather Clark, Head of Music & Drama Faculties,

Hi Erin,
I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to you and your team for your work on the Emanuel primary school musical. The shows were a fantastic success thanks to you all. Erin and Ollie were very professional and friendly and the kids absolutely loved them! I’m very much looking forward to working with you all again!
Thanks again!!
Best wishes,

Susan Longney, Music Teacher,
Emanuel School Randwick, November 2016

Dear Erin,
Aubtin – oh my gosh – how good is he?????????? Can I please book him in for Spamalot in July 2017? Erin was great on the mics too! The sound effects, timing, sound checks, everything… was perfect. Everybody kept commenting – I told him I wanted him for every production – though I know he lives quite a way away but it will be school holidays so maybe you could beg on our behalf!
It was a great production and a rip roaring success with the audience – average 400 per show!
Thanks again Erin

Hi Dave & Erin,
Just wanted to let you know what a great job Kath is doing on the show. It’s a difficult job to find the right balance with the rock band and the cast and I reckon Kath has it nailed.
Thanks for a great show!

Hi Dave
Just a quick email to say a MASSIVE thanks to you and your team for their work on our shows at NIDA last week.
Drew and Kat were so easy to work with and nothing was too much trouble for them. Drew’s work on the shows was exceptional. He has an intimate understanding of the room and what works acoustically in it and what doesn’t. He is a huge asset to us and I would imagine also to you.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with Loud and Clear into the future.
Many thanks,

Peter Kraft, Director of Performing Arts,
The McDonald College, September 2016

Hi Dave and Erin,
I just wanted to thank you and all of the team at Loud and Clear for everything you have done for me and the society over the past 3 years. Every engagement has been a pleasure from my perspective, and any issue was always professionally dealt with and simply overcome.
I appreciate the wonderful output you guys deliver, the fantastic service, and most of all the partnership we have invested in to produce the best quality shows we can with our resources at hand.
I know you will continue to work just as well with Tim going forward, but wanted to formally recognise my appreciation for everything you have done, not to mention your pending contribution to the combined concert on 26 August (which is just outstanding). Thanks for everything guys – you are awesome!
Regards
Andrew

The show went really well, and everything went so smoothly. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.
Would you please pass on my personal thanks to your crew, Erin Hambly, Ben, Ross, and Erin Hendry (and anyone I’ve missed) for their wonderful professionalism and easygoing demeanour. They really were a pleasure to be involved with, and nothing was any trouble – at least if it was they didn’t show it!! We’d be delighted to work with them all again.
So, thanks again Dave, it’s a fantastic enterprise you have going there, long may it reign!

Placing Musical Director Dean Turner’s excellent orchestra behind the scenes enables sound designer David Betteridge to achieve an excellent balance between musicians and voices throughout, ensuring a quality musical experience. Sound Engineer – Tim Walker.

A big technical plus, though, is the excellent sound mix.

Also, the sound design for the production was excellent, with performers well amplified above the orchestra and additional sound effects well incorporated into various moments of the show.

Hey David,
Thank you on behalf of Rockdale Musical Society.
Having Drew, Erin and Philby on board as technicians was wonderful. All three were the most beautifully patient, efficient and calm people in the face of exceedingly stressful demands. Rockdale were lucky to be in their hands. The sound was the best I have experienced since the re-opening of the Town Hall. And certainly hitting a quality I remember from the period when I was on committee back in 2007

A Pulsing rock band, led from drums by Matthew Lovelace, drives this Tommy, with the sound design providing a very effective rock mix.

Chatswood Musical Society’s production, with a splendidly balanced ensemble cast (there doesn’t seem to be a weak link) is vocally amongst the best I have heard on the community theatre circuit, doing a great job with this incredibly challenging Sondheim score. They’re supported by as good a sound mix as you could possibly ask for, with an excellent balance between the musical director Anthony Cutrupi’s musicians, hidden behind the scenes, and the singers.

Neil Litchfield, Stage Whispers,
Into the Woods, Chatswood Musical Society, May 2015

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent work your organisation did on this production.
Drew and Jessica are to be highly commended for their total commitment and professionalism in delivering high quality audio for the show. Without them it would not have sounded anywhere near as good as it did. They are an absolute asset to your organisation. I will not hesitate in recommending them and your organisation for future shows.
Again, thanks for everything.

Thank you for all of your assistance over the last couple of years. It was fantastic to have you onboard and we hope to continue that relationship.
The generosity and professionalism that both you and your staff have shown at all of our events has made my job an extremely easy one.
Please pass on my best wishes to Drew and Erin.
Thank you

One of the other high points for me, literally, was the last note of Ida Mae’s “Dancing in the Devil’s Shoes”. It’s a highly theatrical moment, designed as a show stopper and could be a disaster in lesser hands. In this production, it’s perfect. And it’s not just the artist. It’s also the audio mixing. Audio Engineer, Dave Fitzgerald built in a slight delay so that note reaches the ear a second longer than it should. It’s a subtle and unworldly adjunct to a fine voice. None of the band have amps facing the audience so Fitzgerald expertly controls the volumes and balances. We can clearly hear, not only the soloists but the wistful clarinet. I wish some of the operators of big city shows had his skill, I wouldn’t have to carry earplugs in my handbag!

Hi Dave
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything you did behind the scenes and to set up and make our show happen. It was amazing having your staff there and so wonderful to be able to hear every line in the show!! Music staff were also there and commented on how good the mixing was and the fact that the music was so well balanced etc.
We had numerous comments from other staff and parents saying how professional the sound was and it was really great that Loud and Clear were able to be involved.
Just wanted to let you know how happy we were with everything you did for us. I know you really went above and beyond to provide such a great service and I will definitely pass on to colleagues in other schools (if there are actually any you haven’t been to!!) how well it worked to have you there.
Thanks soooo much again

The sound mix in this show, sometimes an issue at this venue in the past, was perfect.

Hi Dave
Just wanted to say thank you again for ensuring our musical sounded great this year!

Hi Erin,
Just wanted to personally thank you for all your hard work and patience with Camp Rock. Could not have done it without you.
You and your team are amazing to work with and it was so kind of you for going above and beyond for us.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou!

Andrew Bartle and his orchestra provide a big Broadway sound, while Loud and Clear get the audio balance just right (one of this venue’s other significant challenges).

Hi David,
Just a quick note to thank you and your team for doing such a great job at such short notice on ‘When I Grow Up’.
It was ridiculously hot in Potts Hall on Monday night and the audience were quite noisy at times and had we not been lucky enough to secure your services I am certain that no-one would have heard anything!

Dawn Martin, Director
When I Grow Up, MLC School, 2013

Dave Fitzgerald and the team from Loud and Clear delivered a kind of miracle combination of great value, top quality theatrical audio and sound aesthetic judgement. Loud and Clear were a decisive factor in the success of the production.

Gavin Lockley, Composer

Hi Dave,
The Carols went really well last night. As usual, your team was totally professional and fantastic operators and so good to work with. Cameron Hissey was fabulous.
Thank you again for your work. Have a great Xmas and New Year if I don’t get to see you.
I look forward to working with you and your team in 2014.
Kind regards

Hi David,
I would like to thank you so very much for your hard work, expertise and support in helping us put on our fabulous “Alice in Wonderland”. You and your wonderful staff made it such an exciting and enjoyable process for me and the students and I greatly appreciate it. Our principal definitely wants to do it again and now I definitely know who to call.
Warmest regards and much gratitude,

Jemma Thomas, Director,

Hi Dave, Thanks again so much for your help on the show – all your crew were fantastic and the show was all the better for it. We’ll definitely keep you in mind for future projects, and hope to see you all down at the theatre again soon.

“There’s great musical support from the orchestra under Peter Meredith, while the sound mix is particularly clean and impressive.”

Neil Litchfield, Stage Whispers,

Dear David,
I wanted to thank you and Kath for your support with our musical. I am pretty sure that when you hire equipment like we did, it is not standard industry practice to get the type of professional guidance and service you gave to me and Neutral Bay PS. The show was a massive success. It is still being talked about on the playground, in the street and at school meetings.
Many Thanks again,

Victor Tan, Deputy Principal,
Neutral Bay Public School, 2013

Dear David,
I just wanted to send you a personal note to express our sincere thanks for your generous donation made to our Kids Cancer Centre. We are incredibly thankful for your kind gift that will make an enormous difference to the lives of the sick and injured children who need the care of Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. Your support will directly help children with cancer and their families receive the best possible care and treatment.

Kate Garrard, Donor Relations Manager
Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation 2013

Hi David,
I thought I would just drop you a personal note to say thank you for the wonderful job Cameron and your team did on the Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL run of Happy Days. It is always difficult to get things right in such a short period of time and I personally appreciate all that Cameron did to make the production sound as good as it did.
I am looking forward to the Hurstville Entertainment Centre run of the show. It is such a challenge changing to such a vastly different venue. At least I can be confident in the professionalism of your team.

Jan Mahoney, Director
Happy Days, St George Theatre Co 2013

“A small, naive musical at heart, the intimacy of the venue was ideal and the design, a perfect solution; a well-balanced cast; some great groupings; snappy choreography; a good ensemble; strong vocals; cute kids; a good sound mix and snappy pace. And did I really neglect to mention Hayden Barltrop’s orchestra? They were impressive throughout.”

Neil Litchfield, Stage Whispers,
Joseph, Chatswood Musical Society, 2013

“Splendidly supported by Cathy Boyle’s compact band, and well-balanced sound engineering from Jessica Legg, the score is delivered to great advantage.”

Hi Dave, Kathryn was fabulous. She was great with the kids, and it all sounded great….she has inspired one of her helpers to look into doing sound engineering as a career!!!

Vanessa South, Music Teacher

Thank You so much Loud and Clear for making South of Broadway such a success! Erin and Sarah – sorry for all the pressure, but you did an amazing job to give the show the quality of sound that we have learned to appreciate from Loud and Clear. Thank You

Dave Bleier, Director

Thank you for your wonderful contribution to the Lord Mayor’s Picnic. Your team not only helped to make it a very special occasion but were a joy to work with. I hope I get to work with you again in the near future…
Best wishes!

Nicola Sinclair, Event Manager
Lord Mayor’s Picnic Sydney New Year’s Eve 2011

Congratulations to Gerard Plummer and his splendid orchestra, and to Loud and Clear for the sound mix. With the orchestra in a genuine pit, we enjoyed something elusive in community theatre – a balanced, full theatre sound all night. (Chatswood Musical Society’s Sound Of Music)

Neil Litchfield, Stage Whispers Magazine

I just wanted to thank you for all the work on the Riverview Cabaret. It was a complete success and the sound was fantastic! Ben, Tom and Kath were wonderful, I couldn’t speak more highly of them. Professional, flexible and everything was done with a sense of humour. I would not hesitate to recommend Loud and Clear and would love to use you when I direct my next show
(wherever that may be!)

Thank you so much for all your help.

Amy Robertson, Director, Riverview School 2010

I want to say a BIG, HUGE thank you to your Cameron for doing such a marvellous job on Sound of Music. I received many compliments regarding the sound, particularly the balance between vocals & orchestra (a lot of people seemed to think that was the MD’s doing!), and also regarding the overall orchestral sound. In fact one of the harshest critics I know of amplified orchestras was quite happy with the sound – so in the absence of being able to judge myself (since I was up the back the whole time) I will take that as proof positive of a job exceptionally well done. At the same time Cameron was extremely easy to work with and consistently good-humoured.

Naomi, Musical Director, Blue Mountains Musical Society 2009

I wanted to write and thank you and the team for all the work on Ballads.

You and the guys have made an extraordinary difference over the past 3 shows to get Gav’s work sounding great. I know the first day was above and beyond and everyone pulled together to deliver a good product but what has been so encouraging is the commitment to improve with every run. Fitz has in particular really driven the mix and it improves all the time.

Thanks for all your assistance and I have really enjoyed working with you and hope it happens again in the not too distant future.

Elizabeth Hill, Artistic Liaison, Opera Australia, October 2009

Just a short note to let you know that the sound for this year’s Hornsby Gang Show was exemplary and was commented upon by visiting people from elsewhere in Sydney, interstate and NZ. The comment that summed it up was “it was nice to hear every word that every person spoke. I would like my people to talk to your people.” Tom did a fabulous job on the desk handling not just sound fx and video clips but as you know there is no harder show to mix than the Gang Show (revue style with up to 24 different items and a cast of 100 kids) where up to 16 radio mics are shared and changed from person to person every few minutes. Again thanks.

Andy Davis, Technical Director, Hornsby Gang Show July 2009

“Thank you for your fabulous sound design for “Spelling Bee”. Your team is so committed, professional and positive. I have been so pleased with every aspect of the sound for this production.”

Kate Early, Director, Abbotsleigh, April 2009

“To Simon and all the Daves,

When I was told we had Loud and Clear on this job I was so relieved! Thank you for working magic in such a short time. Your work is amazing and very much appreciated. I hope the next few shows give you all the sense of pride you deserve. On top of all that you are a bunch of top guys. Thanks!”

Tyran Parke, Director, Jekyll & Hyde, NDAC March 2009

“The sound by Tom Blunt and David Tucker was exemplary and as good as any professional production.”

Bev Kennedy, Artshub, AIDA October 2008

“Yet again you come through with the goods. It is always a pleasure working with you. Thank you for making it so easy from my point of view.”

Jane Stewart, Director, HMS

“Just a quick note (wish I had more time) to say “what a brilliant job” to you, Teague and Kathryn. The sound for Sunday in the Park was wonderful. Teague and Kathryn are exceptional people – very dedicated and so easy to work with. I know the cast very much appreciated their presence on the project. Once again, thank you – such a small phrase that barely covers how much I appreciate what Loud and Clear did for the show.”

David Hollywood, Producer, Q Theatre Company

“Just thought I’d say that your sound dudes are awesome! Not that this is a new revelation for me, but this show I have noticed their professionalism so much more! It’s so important to have people you can rely on to do a fabulous job and they arrive and do their thing without a hitch!”

Tamara Smith, Director, SYMT

“The show was a great success, in no small measure to the relationship that your staff established with the company.

Many of my students have commented on their easy and productive working relationship with Jess and she in her turn spoke to me of the pleasure she took in working with them. Teague was very helpful to me personally with lighting issues, above and beyond the call of his own responsibilities on sound. And the sound was very good indeed, despite the potential of cyclonic conditions on Tuesday night and the very real Arctic winds on Wednesday night.

I trust the association between Casimir and Loud and Clear may continue. Please pass on to both Teague and Jess our very real appreciation for their part in our show’s success.”

Geoff Cartwright, Casimir College

“David, Jo and all the sensational crew at Loud and Clear have miked me in over 27 lead roles during the last 10 years. They have also provided the sound for 4 productions that I have directed. Throughout all of these productions I have found Loud and Clear Audio to be exemplary in their work and dedication to the show. They are fair on price, helpful with advice, trustworthy, brilliant at trouble shooting in difficult venues and all round seasoned professionals. Their equipment is of the highest standard and under the leadership of David Betterridge their service is second to none. I wouldn’t hesitate to call on them for any production or event.”

Mo & ACE Award Winning Entertainer Adam Scicluna

“On behalf the McDonald College I wanted to extend our sincerest thanks for the truly sensational job Loud and Clear did for our recent musical. The service you provided was not only friendly but highly professional. Any little problems that occurred were fixed efficiently and without fuss. I would like to say that I will be spreading the good word about Loud and Clear, but I have a sneaky suspicion that everyone in Sydney already knows how good the company is.

Once again, a very big thanks to you all.”

Peter Kraft, Head of Music, The McDonald College

“I just want to thank you for doing such a wonderful job with Jekyll and Hyde. You are working this nightmare radio mic show with ease and skill, and as always have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Congratulations on your 200th show! Loud and Clear have been instrumental in the success of countless community groups and productions, bringing them (and me) a professional sound with friendliness and fun.”

Jane Miskovic, Director

“Thanks to David, Jo and the Loud & Clear team for their professionalism and continued support. Stage Artz is working hard to continue raising the bar of youth theatre, and Loud & Clear is an important part of our production team. The kindness and respect shown by the Loud & Clear technicians to my young cast members is both appreciated and reciprocated. The students feel privileged to be working with and learning from such skilled professionals… and so do I. In this unpredictable world of musical theatre, it is a comfort to know that Loud & Clear are always behind us!!! THANK YOU!”

Samantha Neaves, Director – Stage Artz

“I just wanted to send you a quick email to tell you how impressed we all were with Penny and Teague.

They were amazing! We couldn’t have been happier with the outcome of the show and a lot of that is thanks to their professionalism, dedication and brilliance! It was a pleasure to work with them. We are currently planning our next production and we are hoping Penny and Teague can come back and work with us again! Thanks again to you and your brilliant staff.”

Rosanna Zumbo, Director – StageTek

“This is a personal thankyou from a very grateful SYMT member who welcomed the presence of a professional audio company at our recent production of 42nd Street. Our performers could be heard all of the time. Our band was properly mixed through the desk. The friendly technicians arrived on time and acted professionally. The cast weren’t terrified of their mics failing and knew that if anything went wrong, there were people standing by to help. The show could be heard by all our audience from the front to the back of the auditorium. The list goes on and on… all of it positive. Thank you.”

Karen Jones, SYMT

“I don’t think I have ever been to a $70 plus per ticket professional show were the vocals and music were any better than Willoughby Musical Society’s Secret Garden. The whole sound was CD quality.”

Richard Irwin

“On behalf of the WMS Committee, I would like to congratulate you on your on your major contribution to Titanic – the Musical. The sound has been a major factor in the success of the show.”

Barry Fitzgibbon, WMS
